About St. Andrew's
St. Andrew's Preschool was established in 1967 by members of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church to be a Parent Cooperative and promote Christian nurture for children and families alike. Our program serves children between the ages of 2 ½ and 5 years who are ready for a preschool group experience. The school is licensed by the State Department of Social Services and has a capacity of 24 students per day. Children are enrolled in the order of application with consideration given to maintaining a balance according to age, sex, and meeting staff needs. No preference is given for religious affiliation. Parents are welcome to visit and observe at any time.
St. Andrew’s Staff Members:
The Director and Teacher are both licensed under the California Department of Social Service and are current members of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and actively peruse updates in education and child development topics.
Parent Participation:
St. Andrew’s Preschool encourages parents to participate in the preschool group experiences of the children. Participating provides opportunities for a better understanding of young children, as well as adult fellowship and support. Attendance by all families at once a month parent meetings is encouraged. Parents may choose either Staff or Supporting enrollments. A Staff parent is one who chooses to work at the school one morning per week and attends a brief staff meeting after school one day per month. Parent involvement results in a favorable adult to child ratio. Supporting parents are those who are not able to work one morning as staff, but cooperate in all other functions of the school program.
Hours and Holidays:
School hours are from 8:30am – 1:30pm - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with a Pre-K program on Tuesdays, from September to June. Holidays usually coincide with those of Goleta Union school districts.
Health Requirements:
Each child must have on file an up to date immunization record before entering school. A participating parent is required to have a TB test and a written statement of health, as well as approved fingerprinting.
Tuition and Fees:
A registration/materials fee and security deposit of $200 is due upon registration. This is a NON REFUNDABLE deposit, of which $100 is applied to first month's tuition. Tuition is collected during the first school week of each month and is applied to the FOLLOWING MONTH"S balance (tuition is due a month ahead). This tuition will be forfeited upon leaving the school before the end of the school year. Snack is covered in the tuition; however the children bring their own lunch.
Staff Enrollment:
$352.00 per month for 4 days a week

$560.00 per month for 4 days a week

St. Andrew’s is a non-profit preschool and fundraising provides a major part of our operating expenses. We ask that all families volunteer for our annual Family Festival.
Physical Facilities:
The preschool is located on the five acre grounds of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. It has a large fenced yard with swings, sandbox, climbing and other large muscle apparatus and wheeled toys. Indoors, there is a room furnished for block play and other manipulative activities, a second room offers housekeeping and dramatic play materials. Two additional rooms are used for daily small group snack and activity time. The multipurpose room includes a mini-kitchen from which a healthful mid-morning snack is served, and an area for singing, music and movement.
